Would your friends describe you as “sticky”?
I’m talking about your story, your elevator speech.
Does it stick with people after they leave your company? Could someone recite it correctly to the next person they meet, even just a few minutes later?
Probably not.
Creating a sticky story is not easy but it can be done, if you follow the formula.
In their book Made To Stick, brothers Chip and Dan Heath describe six elements of every sticky message:
- Simple
- Unexpected
- Concrete
- Credible
- Emotional
- Stories
A big part of what I do for my clients is message crafting – helping them tell their own stories.
You might be surprised what a sticky kid you could be.
