The Two-Minute Explainer Video

Nobody understands what you do my friend.

You may think that your current clients, prospective clients, and the public at large understand whom you help and what problems you solve for them, but you’re wrong. They don’t.

Just think how often you hear people say, “Oh, I didn’t know you did that!”

We’re all too busy and have too many other demands on our attention to invest any energy into figuring out exactly what you do. That’s why you have to tell us.

And you have to tell us in a way that’s detailed enough to get the message across but short enough for us to be willing to engage with it.

That’s why you need a Two-Minute Explainer Video for each of the products and services you offer, as well as for your company as a whole.

We produced the Two-Minute Explainer Video above for a New Jersey company called Parkway Kew that offers a highly-specialized service, capstan repair, to an unusual niche industry, wire manufacturing companies.

This video follows the structure of every explainer video we produce, allowing it to communicate all of these messages in just two minutes:

  • Who is the client?
  • What is their problem?
  • What specific pains does this problem create for the client?
  • What is our solution to this problem?
  • How and why does it work?
  • What beneficial outcomes result from engaging with our solution?
  • What horrible outcomes will result from not engaging?
  • Why should you believe that we can really deliver these results?
  • How can you learn more without any obligation to buy anything?

The story always needs to start with the client and their problem – so they will watch the video – move on to the solution and beneficial results, and end with a call to action – so they will pick up the phone.

Leveraging a Two-Minute Explainer Video the 12 Different Ways we explained in last week’s message results in your customers, prospects and general public suddenly understanding what you do and how you can help them solve their problem.

That’s how revenue gets generated kids, which is the object of the exercise.

And, if Digital Media Positioning can effectively tell the capstan repair story to wire manufacturers, we can tell your story to your market.

Storytelling is the game. It’s why Nike is Nike. It’s why Apple is Apple. It’s why Walt Disney built Disney World and it’s why Vince McMahon makes a billion dollars.
