Business Survival in 2020 and Beyond

None of us have ever seen anything like this. COVID-19 changed everything.

And while a small number of industries are actually thriving in our Brave New World, most are facing huge drops in revenue, uncertainty about the future, and tough decisions about staffing.

We need advice, direction and leadership.

That’s why I asked David Belden of ExecuVision International to join me on Radio Free Enterprise this week. David has consulted to hundreds of companies as well as thousands of individual founders and executives over the past 30+ years.

He has helped them survive previous disruptions like 9/11, the global financial crisis of 2008, and the resulting Great Recession.

If you don’t have time to tune into this video interview, here is David’s core message:

All of us need to take the following steps as soon as possible:

  • Step affirmatively into your role as a leader
  • Create your plan and share it with all stakeholders
  • Convert fixed costs to variable costs wherever possible
  • Dramatically reduce payroll
  • Jettison any activity that isn’t part of your company’s core mission
  • Learn to effectively hire, manage, and measure remote workers

My conversation with David Belden live streamed on Facebook at 11:00 a.m. EDT this morning, and will be available there indefinitely for replay.

We’re all in this together folks. And we will make it through to the other side.

Leaders have more responsibility to the organization than they do to any individual.
